Great product, tiny size

Great cap, but runs sooo small! I have a medium sized head, 58 cm, but the S/M would only fit a child - no larger than 55 cm I would say, although it’s supposed to fit up to 59cm…. At the same time, the G1000 Cap I purchased in S/M is really generous in size, more like “L” in other hats. I said to myself at that time: “Those Scandinavians do have large heads!”…and assumed S/M would fit me on this cap as well! My issue is not with the product, but rather the highly inconsistent Fjallraven sizing - I got a dozen pieces from them, I really love their quality and all they stand for, but their sizing is all over the place and makes ordering online risky - make sure you order from a Retailer with a good return policy.

Almost a nice hat, but not quite

I really wanted to like this hat, but I can't. It seems to have the curious ability to be both too big and too small at the same time. My head is pretty big, so I bought the size L/XL which on paper seemed like it should fit. However it seems to be uncomfortably tight around the crown. It seems to be so roomy up top that I must pull it down to avoid excess space on top of my head, and then the band is tight around the top of me ears. Draughts annoy my forehead, and the wind can get in underneath the ear flaps. This could in theory be fixed if I could wear a beanie underneath, but the hat is too tight for this. Otherwise, I like the essence of the hat. The peak is good in the low winter sun. The warmth from the insulation is spot on. The hat looks the business, unlike others that look a bit daft and shapeless. The hat would be better if: 1) It came in a larger size around the head-band/crown AND had a volume adjustment at the back so it could be tightened as needed. 2) It came with a chin-strap or cord that could be used to pull the ear flaps down snuggly over the ears to stop draughts getting in.

Excellent hat

Great hat! The longer brim is excellent on bright snowy days and the back comes down far enough to keep the spot at the top of my spine warm. And the flap actually covers my ears, and doesn’t slide up like beanies are prone to doing. I bought the larger option after checking through the reviews and I’m glad I did. It’s not super snug, but not too loose. Definitely measure your head and check the sizing guidelines.

Tolle Cap! Merkwürdige Größen!

Die Cap ansich ist klasse, ist sehr hochwertig verarbeitet und hält warm. Allerdings bemängel ich die Größenauswahl. Da es bei Fjällräven, wie auch bei anderen Herstellern schon mal zu Abweichungen bei den Größenangaben und der tatsächlichen Größe kommt (ich hab einen Kopfumfang von 59 cm, müsste also laut Angabe L/XL tragen. Tatsächlich passt aber S/M perfekt), habe ich die Cap in beiden Größen bestellt und... Keine passt. S/M ist zu eng. Nach kurzem Tragen drückt es unangenehm am Kopf. L/XL ist ein ganzes Stück zu groß, so dass sie mir sehr (zu) tief auf die Stirn rutscht und auch über die Ohren im eingeklappten Zustand, was ich als unangenehm empfinde. Zudem sieht es komisch aus, als hätte man einen Ballon auf dem Kopf. Sehr schade. Es müsste definitiv eine Zwischengröße her, da ich die Cap, wie gesagt ansonsten echt klasse finde. So gingen beide dann leider zurück!

That winter coat I bought at REI led me to all your well made stuff. This hat is a yummy bold yellow. Wear it different ways--skull cap underneath or over, hat as it is, generous size. It's warm yet breathable if I get hot but want to keep a hat on and look good. ;)

Cap is amazingly well constructed / design is perfect. Though my personal preference would be for slightly more roominess, the S/M size fits my (average) female head perfectly, and performs its intended task of keeping out any drafts whatsoever. So glad I bought it.
